USG GUIDED LEFT BREAST BIOPSY
Procedure performed to obtain a tissue sample from a specific area of the breast for further examination. It involves using ultrasound imaging to guide the biopsy needle to the target area.
Duration 30 to 60 minutes to complete.
Preparation for a USG guided left breast biopsy typically includes the following steps:
- Clothing: Wear comfortable clothing on the day of the procedure, preferably a two-piece outfit that allows easy access to the breast area. You may be provided with a gown to wear during the procedure.
- Medications: Inform your healthcare provider about any medications you are currently taking, including blood thinners or antiplatelet medications. Your healthcare provider will provide guidance on whether you need to temporarily discontinue these medications before the biopsy.
- Fasting: Depending on the type of anesthesia or sedation used during the procedure, you may be instructed to avoid eating or drinking for a certain period before the biopsy. Your healthcare provider will provide specific instructions regarding fasting if necessary.
- Inform the Healthcare Provider: Inform your healthcare provider if you are pregnant or suspect you may be pregnant. Special precautions may need to be taken during the procedure in such cases.
